LOVE
Love is the subject of more poems, songs than other subjects. Because love is so much a part of life, great poems are written, and the lack of love is the producer of bad poems. LOVE of GOD will set your soul on fire with the Word of GOD; while those that have never known HIS LOVE, writes sad sonnets about love.
We find in the Greek language, love is “Eros” the sexual physical desire; “Philos” suggests affection and devotion as found in casual friendships. Neither of these represent nor measure the LOVE of GOD. St. Paul in 1 Corinthians 13 (our love chapter) communicates the depth and sincerity of passion love. Rarely is this Greek Word “agape” used, but is love based on deliberation of one who loves in opposition to worthiness of one loved. Agape love is not a natural love; its existence is far greater.
In giving of this love, it is not selfish, never expects anything in return and can bind true relationships closer than the other mentioned. Pray and seek this kind of love for love covers a multitude of sins.
In 1 Corinthians 13, St Paul emphasizes that love will:
Never give up
Never provoke
Never be selfish
Never envy
Never rejoices in iniquity
Never flees when hardships arrive
Never is puffed up nor full of self pride/glory
Love always:
Always rejoices when they receive blessings
Always suffers long
Always forgives
Always has sympathy for others
Always rejoices in the truth
Always flees from evil
Always keeps control of emotions especially anger
Always looks beyond the faults of others, and their desires, needs, and plans
This kind of Love that GOD shows us,
We are to show to one another.

When I was a child, I remember going to the community store that made a children's theater(wood chairs) to watch cowboys and indians every Saturday morning.
Also remember going to the local movie theater and bought coke and popcorn and ticket for 25 cents.
My brother and I went to see "From Here to Eternity", and when the love scene on the beach showed, I said out loud, "and they ain't even married, either."

My parents bought a case (6) of bottled 7 oz coke...
It lasted a week when we did not open one and drink it down. When we opened one,we poured it slowly over the ice in 4 glasses.
I remember my maternal grandparents large settlement. Grandma would put the clothes in a large cast iron kettle, and boil them until they were clean. She made the lye soap that she washed them in, but I do not remember her receipe for it.
I remember hog-killing in Novemeber, Grandma churning her own butter from the cows they raised.
I remember the car that had to be cranked from the front to get started.

Snake Bites the Dust
The snake sank its fangs in, infesting its poison into this drunken man, who had just received a ”Dear John” from his wife.
“John, that snake is gonna kill ya. Let it go.” Ralph looks toward Heaven and prays, LORD, JESUS help me help him.”
Still smashing the cottonmouth inside his fists to his forehead, ”Kill me, kill me now” mutters John.
“Just a little talk with JESUS,” sings Ralph softly.
Then, firmly, “John, Stop! You’re bleeding,” proclaims Ralph looking at his war-torn, swollen and bleeding foxhole buddy.
In civilian life, Ralph sang with the Sisk Gospel Quartet, and worked in a mill; while John lived a very rebelling life, yet here in the war, they were paired up together and watched each other’s back.
Now John, a drinking rejected soldier, declares,
“Hey, my drinking saved us. Look, the snake is dead. He’s dead—drunk—dead from his poison and my booze.”
Both fall against the wall of the foxhole, laughing, and looking on the dead snake between their feet.
“In the middle of fire zone, a snake bites the dust and dies from its own poison mingled with booze.”
“Ralph, I been thinking. You carry a Testament everywhere you go, and your singing has kept us sane these many months on the war front. I need that commitment. Sally just asked for a divorce, and I want to go back home, sober and a Christian. Will you help me?”
The serpent eats the dust again.

Health is filled with many diagnosis and complications, but was raised from my deathbed where Hospice and doctors gave me less than 6 weeks to live.
Until 2000, I never went to a doctor or took med, not even tylenol. Now it is sad the medicines I am told that I need to take in order to live.

I love the LORD, and to write and sing of HIS love and blessings.
I came from a singing family, but was the black sheep of the family.
Now the LORD inspires me to write songs.
I feel very blessed to have earned my Associate and Bachelor degrees in my later years.
